Missionary Exchanges

Dear Friends and Family,

We had exchanges this week. I went to Durham with Sister Kelly for a day. Sister Farr's birthday is this next week. She's pretty excited about it! We have transfers on the 11th. We don't know what's happening yet. So if you are sending me something that would get here after that, please send it to the Mission Home, until after I hear what will happen. If I stay in this area again, please note that THERE WILL BE A CHANGE OF ADDRESS towards the end of August. We will be moving to a different apartment complex. We got permission to help with a Stake activity for Pioneer Day. It was great! There were some people I knew and loved from my first area there! It was great!!!! I love y'all! Sorry this is so short!

Sincerely,
Sister Kimberly Galloway

Courage and Faith.

Dear Friends and Family,

I got tired of how dingy my hair was looking, and bought some cheep hair die. It's been a tough week. Sister Farr found out that two of her family friends died in a lightning storm. She seems to be handling it well, but I can tell it's hard. It was her brother's best friend and that boys dad. Facebook is a hard way to find out about stuff like that. I know that for myself.

I don't remember if I told y'all that we have a new Mission President. Sometimes we teach the Gospel Principle class at Church. This week we taught about Temple work and Family History. I need to get more into doing family history when I get home from my mission. Yesterday was my 8 month mark on my mission. I have about 10 more to go. I've already been in 3 areas, 4 wards, and had 6 companions including the MTC, 3 of which have already gone home. Sometimes it goes by really fast and really slow. If I'm still in this area towards the end of August, know that there will be a change of address for those of you who write me directly. The Sister's here will be moving to a different apartment. Sister Farr is showing me how to cover my Book of Mormon in fabric it's fun p-day activity. I'll have to send a picture when it's done.

Sincerely,
Sister Kimberly Galloway

Important News

Dear friends and family,

I encourage y'all to check out mormonsandgays.org and read the letter from the first presidency on the Church News Room. Remember to reach out to everyone with love and kindness no matter what they believe. We can disagree with someone and still love them, but not participate in the things that we do not agree with. Love you everyone, and be respectful! There are things that we do not understand. However, we do know that we are all God's children, that he loves everyone and we should too. That's all on that for now.

I'm doing well! Sister Farr and I are working hard and having fun doing it. It's been kind of an odd week but still good. Even when people cancel, or don't show up, or are rude, it could still be just a another step in their journey to come unto Christ. It's hard to change and turn your life around. Most people need some time to think, and to water the seeds of faith before they are willing to make those commitments. Even when they aren't ready to make that step, it's an honor to have helped them water the seed of their faith, so that one day, their faith might bloom and grow into a mustard seed.

I love being a missionary! There is so much purpose behind every day. We are usually on a spiritual high, as we continue to work every day, and we eventually come home exhausted! We get to know people in ways that you don't normally get to know people. People really open up to us, and there is nothing like the love we feel as the people continue to grow in what they are learning spiritually.I can't fully explain it. It's something you have to experience. I can't believe how much time has already past. It will be 8 months this Sunday! That's crazy! I love and miss y'all! Keep going on strong!!

Sincerely,
Sister Kimberly Galloway

July 6th-TBA

Week of July 6th-Email

4th of July in North Carolina

Dear Friends and Family,

Happy Independence Day! I hope it was fabulous! Mine was pretty good. Holidays are weird as a missionary. It is hard to find people at home because a lot of people go out. We were brought to a parade in the hopes of walking around and talking to people. We did give a great conversation about family history with someone. So I call it a success!

This week was slower than usual since a lot of the people we have been teaching, were out of town. But I'm getting to know the Ward better and helping Sister Farr to learn it. She's a great companion! She's a lot of fun to be around. One of the families that had us over, showed us how to make cotton candy, that was fun.

A random thing from this week. A man stopped us on the way out of a store last Monday to thank us for dressing modestly, and then he began talking to us for an hour, about what he believes. He wasn't interested in taking the discussions, but I think he just needed someone to talk to, and he might have been a little drunk, but he was nice. Sorry, but I'm out of time. I love y'all!

We had two baptisms this week!!! Donna and Brittany are amazing! I know they will stay strong! They are great! The Baptisam was beautiful. It was a big one with2 converts and two 8 year olds. It was the same day as one of my nephews baptisms. So I hope his was just as beautiful. I was sad to miss that but I'm on my mission.
We got to groom horse like I told you we would! It was fun. They have a lot of personality!

We went on exchanges! Sister Hammond is great!!! She's going home this coming transfer meeting. There's a lot of missionaries going home this next transfer...
Sorry this is so short. It's been a crazy good week all around.

Love always,
Sister Kimberly Galloway

I'm a Senior Companion!

Dear Friends and Family,

Sister Treu went home and my new companion is Sister Farr. Sister Farr is fun. She's been on her mission for a transfer less than me, so I'm a senior companion now. It's weird to think that 3 of my companions have already gone home. Plus, my trainer only has 3 months left in which she is training for the second time. Crazy how fast time goes.

We have been fining more investigators lately. I love referrals! And I love it when investigators call our lessons, Bible Study. I love the South! And I love serving the Lord!!! I love how the Holy Ghost testifies to the pure in heart of the truth that we bring! "And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." Moroni 10:5
I love you!

Sincerely,
Sister Kimberly Galloway
